Time to stop and be still

Time to stop and be still…

As the summer starts to cool down and we know soon the days will be shorter and nights longer, the trees will start changing their colors and then shed their leaves. This is Mother Nature’s gentle reminder to slow down after a wild and wonderful summer filled with long days and fun nights with friends and family.

Summers are delicious and delightful, so carefree and adventurous.  We tend to fill our summer days to the brim with joy and adventures.

But nature models to us a rhythm and a rhyme of time. When to go full speed, to play and be wild and free and when we shed those wild idees, party plans, to-do lists and busy schedules. We are presented with an invitation to let go of the long hours and busy timelines to settle into a period of rest and self-care.

Autumn or fall (potato/potato) is gently approaching, a time when we savor the fun and freedom of endless summer days and fun filled nights. It’s a time of rest and relaxation. Letting go of the drive and the rush to do more.

Autumn gives us the space to let it all fall (see what I did there) down. To let go and rest. To process time gone by and allows us to just be.

Allow that space, allow the leaves to fall around you, hear the rustle as you step on them when you take a slow and relaxing walk home. Bathe in the lush memories of what was and color your dreams with the beautiful palette of autumn and things yet to come.

Sometimes, it’s time to stop and be still. To give yourself time to sit down and reminisce. So let the colors of autumn entice you this year and every year after, to take time for yourself, often, to stop and be still…care for yourself, you need it and even more so, you deserve it.

Live, love, laugh, let go and light up the world in your own unique way.

With love, always
